Task-Dependent Warping of Semantic Representations During Search for Visual Action Categories

This is an interactive 3D viewer that displays results from a study that investigates warping of semantic representations during search for visual action categories in the brain.

Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) was used to measure brain activity in five people while they watched natural movies. This data was used to estimate models in each voxel (3D pixel) that could predict brain activity elicited by each of the 109 action categories in the movies. These models were then compared during passive viewing, and during visual search for either communication or locomotion actions.
